It was a four-part documentary series made by filmmaker Chris Terrill for ITV that followed a troop of Royal Marines recruits through their 32 weeks of Commando training and then into combat on deployment in Helmand Province. It originally aired in 2007 and is still regarded by many Royal Marines as one of the most authentic documentaries about Commando training. A focal point of the documentary was recruit Williams, who soon after earning his green beret was deployed to Afghanistan within weeks and went on to complete multiple tours.
